As of June 15, 2021, the Governor terminated the executive orders that put into place the Stay Home Order

He also phased out the vast majority of executive actions put in place since March 2020 as part of the pandemic response

2020-2021 School Year

As you may know by now, California Governor Gavin Newsom released mandated guidelines for schools as we continue to navigate through the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic.

One of the requirements for schools to reopen their campuses is that the county in which they are located must be off the state's monitoring list for two weeks. Unfortunately, Kern County remains on the list.

Therefore, in compliance with Governor Newsom's mandate, Gideon Academy has applied for a waiver that would allow our school to open earlier, if approved. We are confident that Gideon would be approved to open based on our size and remote location, that being said, we want to assure you that as soon as we can open campus using the following guidelines, we are excited and ready.

In the event that our physical campus is closed, we are still able to move forward with our distance learning model that we implemented last March. The first day of school will still be August 4th, and we will follow our regular schedule.

Again, it is our goal to get our students back on campus as quickly and as safely as possible. Please continue to pray and fast as a family as we do our best to navigate this situation.

Please continue to check your emails for important updates and information.
